This site is about two Northumbrian families who lived in and around Alnwick during the 18th and 19th centuries. They include my direct ancestors who left properties, documents and books, pictures and other memorabilia to enable my parents, Arthur and Effie and other family members to gather information for this site.

My name is John Kenyon. My mother was Ethel ( Effie ) Buston whose forbears were from the Buston and Lambert families of Northumberland who can be traced back to 1622.We have also uncovered background history which goes back to the 12th century.

This site is dedicated to my parents.

The first specific records are found in 1567 in The History of Northumberland which records a survey of the village of Over Buston near Walkworth.

With the help of my oldest friend and genealogist Alan Birdsall ,my wife Jane and the contents of the "Oak Box".I have been able to add enormously to our knowledge of the families and to bring alive for us the life and times of those years. More of the Oak Box next.
