The two families are traced through the male line but of course there will be much more to be found amongst the many siblings and I will be grateful for any further information arising from this site.

Why did the Roger Buston sell Buston Hall? There was talk of unwise investment in coal mining. Also that some members of the family were far too fond of " lifting their elbows" {as my mother put it} suggesting a drink problem
The Thew family of Shortridge Hall seem interesting as do the Bell family who preceded them at Shortridge. A Thew married Roger Buston in 1871 and Edward Thew married Elizabeth Lambert.
Anthony Lambert born 1758 married an Indian Princess but no more is known.
A sister of my Grandfather Henry Buston married and went to live in South America.
My mother recalled a lamb carcass being sent back to my Grandparents from the Antipodes during the Great War by another Buston emigrant.
